Diabetes Patient Advisory Council (DPAC)

Collaboration

Our patient council is a vital part of our research. Our research team members meet regularly with our Diabetes Patient Advisory Council in Mauston, WI to gain key patient perspectives that inform our work. These perspectives are an invaluable addition to our project, increasing the validity and rigor of our research while maximizing our impact on patient-centered outcomes.

A Sense of Community

Our council members report that these meetings have helped solidify strong relationships between the clinic, patients and research staff. This partnership improves our understanding of patient perspectives, our-shared values and strengthens our mission to prevent blindness.

Making a Difference

Council meetings represent an opportunity for patient stakeholders to learn more about diabetic eye disease and allow them to help make a difference in the health and well-being of their friends, family and community locally and around the world.
